"This nonfiction account reads beautifully, and, at times, I marvelled at the author's skill in telling her story in such a way that the reader is drawn into everything that happened to her and her mother. The section of her story that is referred to in the title, namely, the housing battle with Donald Sterling, who essentially denied services to tenants on the grounds of race, reads like a legal thriller. This book was written to inspire and motivate anyone that is struggling or dealing with hard times in their life. I am hoping to share our story to show people that you must keep fighting even when obstacles are in your way. My mother and I had very little family to help us through very difficult times that would hit us for many years. After reading our story, you will know that you can achieve all dreams even when it seems everyone has turned their backs on you!

Beautiful and Heartfelt Book...Well Written

This is a really inspirational story about 2 strong women, that needs to be told. I took so much from the everyday struggles that Ebony and her mother go through in life, yet kept going. It's a beautiful portal of overcoming obstacles, and ultimately finding purpose in life and true love. I read this book in one sitting; it is an easy read to follow, and you can't seem to put it down because you have to find out what happens next. I look forward to hearing what Ebony does next.

From the moment I started reading this book, my interest was instantly peaked. Ebony has the ability to craft the plot of this book in a way that keeps its audience captivated. I really learned quite a bit about how focus, faith and sheer willpower propelled her from a less than perfect environment and tumultuous past to living a life that anyone would be proud of.
Ebony, I am looking forward to reading more and more of your book. Keep up the great work.

Great Book

This was an intriguing book about a woman who took a proud stand against Donald Sterling during a dispute with an apartment in 2002. She shares the details of her story and they were fascinating to know about. It explores racism at its worst as well shows an example how the rich exploit the powerless and those who seemingly can’t strike back. I was encouraged by this detailed account of what happened and it was definitely inspiring to read from the very start. I would highly recommend it.
